The law of time

February 05, 2021

Each day will pass in its turn. It will pass no more slowly, and no more quickly, than all the other days. On Monday, Saturday is five days away. On Tuesday, it is four. Wednesday, three. Thursday, two. Friday, one. Saturday.

Each day is seven days from the same day. Each countdown to one day is a countdown to another day, by proxy. For example, Friday is one day from Saturday, and three days from Monday.

Do not fight with time. You cannot speed it up or slow it down. In the midst of something unbearable, you only must wait, and it will pass. In the midst of something delightful, you only must wait, and it will pass.

And whatever happens after it passes will pass too, after some amount of time. Might be big. Might be small. But it, too, will pass.

Wash your hands.
