Screaming at the fire does not put it out. Talking about the fire does not put it out. Making a plan to put out the fire does not put it out (though it may be useful to put it out more effectively). Worrying about the fire does not put it out. Telling someone else that you should both work on putting out the fire does not put it out. Putting the fire out puts the fire out.
